三界之內的師父只會在耳際叮嚀;

而超越三界束縛之上的上師 是另外一種類型;

他的師父也瞎了;

將一起步入石造的船;

The False Master

Know this, Kabir says ,

fully and without mistake,

You'll find a difference that is very great,

Between devotion for one guru and another.

The head should bow before the guru only,

Who teaches you the spiritual game of the Word.

The guru who whispers in the ears in the domain(of Kal);

The guru beyond the boundary of Kal is of another type; '

Tis only when thou greatest a guru from beyond the boundary,

That thou wilt reach thy home.

Blind ,blind is the disciple of that one,

Whose guru too is blind; The blind one meets the blind,

And both then into the well(of Hell).

When a greedy disciple comes across a greedy master,

Then both step into a boat that's made of stone;

And both are drowned in the ocean of transmigration.

Kabir ,I say that without a perfect Master,

The disciple also never can be perfect.

The greedy master and his greedy devotee

Will both be roasted in the fire of Hell.

The guru who does not end the illusion of this world.

And end thy aimless wandering (in transmigration) is useless.

Go only to that guru who will freely,

gladly Reveal to you the secret of the Word.

The slave (the imperfect master) meets the slave;

How can they then be freed?

But serve the boundless Master who is not a slave,

And in a moment he will set thee wholly free.

Leave a false master, wasting not a moment,

For thou will never get from him The secret of the Word,

And under him thou'lt wander endlessly.
