卡比爾是印度極有名的詩人,印度人至今仍流傳其詩句,

平常做鞋匠,很貧窮,但是很慷慨.

他的詩大多與靈修有關,很尖銳,諷刺,漂亮,取笑假的,

亂七八糟的修行者,

當時的修行人都怕他,尊重他.

Kabir is a well-known writer in India. He was an enlightened master who lived some five to six hundred years ago. He was not rich and earned his living as a cobbler. Though he had very little money, he was very generous. Very often when he had guests, he would ask his wife to borrow money or to get some food on creditin order to entertain them.

Kabir's poems are very popular among the people, and he remains a well-known name today. Every East Indian person knows his name. His poetic creations are marked by sarcasm and his spiritual verses are beautifully written.
